Entering and Exiting Camera Control Mode


  • To enter camera mode, press the Alt button and move the mouse.
  • To exit camera mode, press the Esc button. This action returns to the standard controls, described on the Avatar Movement page.
  • Note: All camera controls are currently mouse driven. Future updates will contain keyboard controls for basic functions as well as icon controls to improve accessibility for new users.



Camera Rotation and Tilt


  • Camera Rotation functions use the 'Alt' button.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button still held down) to the right to rotate the camera to the right with the mouse cursor as the center point.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button still held down) to the left to rotate the camera to the left with the mouse cursor as the center point.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button still held down) forward to tilt the camera down with the mouse cursor as the center point.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button still held down) backwards to tilt the camera up to the left with the mouse cursor as the center point.

Camera Panning


  • Camera Panning functions use the 'Alt' button and the left mouse button.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button and left mouse button still held down) to the right to pan the camera to the right.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button and left mouse button still held down) to the left to pan the camera to the left.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button and left mouse button still held down) forward to move the camera forward.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button and left mouse button still held down) backwards to move the camera backwards.

Camera Zoom


  • Camera Panning functions use the 'Alt' button and the right mouse button.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button and right mouse button still held down) forward to zoom the camera in.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button and right mouse button still held down) backwards to zoom the camera out.

Camera Altitude


  • Camera Altitude functions use the 'Alt' button, the left mouse button and the right mouse button.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button, the left mouse button and the right mouse button still held down) forward to elevate the camera.
  • Move the mouse (with the 'Alt' button, the left mouse button and the right mouse button still held down) backwards to lower the camera.

Free Look


  • Once the camera has been set with the 'Alt' button, the user may let go of the 'Alt' button and the camera will remain at the set location.
  • Free look from a 'set' camera uses the right mouse button (note: do NOT hold 'Alt')
  • Move the mouse (with the right mouse button still held down) to the right to rotate the camera to the right with the mouse cursor as the center point.
  • Move the mouse (with the right mouse button still held down) to the left to rotate the camera to the left with the mouse cursor as the center point.
  • Move the mouse (with the right mouse button still held down) forward to tilt the camera down with the mouse cursor as the center point.
  • Move the mouse (with the right mouse button still held down) backwards to tilt the camera up to the left with the mouse cursor as the center point.

Avatar Movement in Camera Mode


  • Users may move their avatar in Camera Mode by left clicking on a location. The avatar will attempt to move directly to that location.



Additional Notes on Camera Mode


  • Users may only 'set' a camera up to 10 meters away from their avatar. Attempts to set cameras at more extended distances will not function.
